Same rules and criteria as with all the other "Top-3" threads:

First Team
Corners: Deltha O'Neal, Nnamdi Asomugha
Safeties: Thomas DeCoud, Chris Conte

Second Team
Corners: Daymeion Hughes, Syd'Quan Thompson
Safeties: Matt Giordano, Ashtyn Davis

Third Team
Corners: Steve Williams, Marc Anthony
Safeties: Cam Bynum, Marquis Smith (played safety under Holmoe, moved to LB in the pros)

Apologies to D.J. Campbell and Jaylinn Hawkins. The corners are a lot more famous/talented. But the safety classes we've had are far deeper.

Again, this is just one yabbo's opinion. Let's see your list!

Hopefully I didn't screw this one up as badly as I did the linebackers

There are actually 4-5 other safeties who were good enough here at Cal to make the 3rd team if they had the same accomplishments at another position. Despite its lack of first round stars, this might be the deepest position on the team in terms of very, very good players.

You gotta have Bynum on there before either of your 3rd team guys

absolutely disrespectful to Harrison Smith, Cal's all-time passes defended record with 35.

He already is one of my 3rd team guys. Who would you supplant to move him into the second team?

No disrespect intended. Helluva player. But do you think he was better than Cam Bynum or Marquis Smith?

Safety has crazy depth.
