Come out and support this team! And no, we won't move this to the women's hoops board because it's already there, too

Charmin Smith Named ESPN Coach Of The Week
By Cal Athletics
January 11, 2024
BERKELEY – Cal women's basketball head coach Charmin Smith was named ESPN's Coach of the Week on Monday after leading the Golden Bears to a home sweep of Washington and Washington State last weekend, marking the program's first Pac-12 sweep since the 2018-19 season.
At 12-3 overall, the team is also off to its best 15-game start under Smith and since the 2016-17 season, when it started 13-2. The Bears' strong start led to receiving votes in this week's AP Top 25 Poll and an inclusion in ESPN's Bracketology Report on Tuesday.
The Bears are on the road this week and face No. 5 Colorado Friday at 6 p.m. PT and No. 19 Utah Sunday at 11 a.m.

This is the highest praise I've seen given to a cal coach of a major sport in many years
Playing in the WBB Pac-12 is brutal with half the teams among the elite and many other teams in the NCAA tournament caliber range
If you haven't seen this team play, you should go to a game
WBB is increasing in popularity every year after decades of obscurity

I've been to a bunch of their games so far and they're fun to watch. A much more competitive mix of players than in prior years after some good portal and prep additions.HoopDreams said:
