Seems like Rod's lobbying for a zone defense made its way through to Madsen as we saw it in the last game, but it was a disaster. Hard to go from never using it, to solely using it, but still, maybe it was just a bad idea worth a try? In general, the way to beat a zone is with great shooting. Why, if 3pt defense is our biggest problem, would switching to a zone help remedy that? Seems like it just makes it worse. And it did. The problem doesn't seem to be our defensive scheming, but the fact that all but one of our players is incapable of playing, or unwilling to play, solid defense.
